This Privacy Policy explains how Businessappraisal ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit our website or use our business valuation tool. We aim to be plain and honest about what we do with data.

Information we collect

When you create an account we collect your email address and a verification code we send to confirm it. If you contact us, we collect your name, email, and message. We also collect standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and the page that referred you, along with any UTM parameters in the link you arrived from.

The financial figures you enter

To produce a valuation, Businessappraisal asks for high-level figures about your business, such as revenue, EBITDA or seller's discretionary earnings, growth rate, margin, and your industry or business model. We use those figures to calculate your estimate and explain the drivers behind it. We do not sell or share them, we do not hand them to brokers or a sales team, and we do not connect to your bank, your accounting software, or any financial account. We never ask for bank logins, account numbers, or tax returns.

How we use information

  • To create and secure your account and confirm your email.
  • To produce your valuation estimate and explain the methods and drivers behind it.
  • To respond to your messages and provide support.
  • To send product communications about your account, which you can opt out of.
  • To understand how the site is used and improve it.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share the figures you enter with brokers or advisors. We share information only with service providers who help us operate the site (for example, email delivery and analytics), under contracts that require them to protect it, or where required by law.

Data retention

We keep account and contact information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, then delete or anonymize it. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest and access controls. Because we ask only for high-level figures and never connect to your financial accounts, there is no bank login or account credential for us to hold. Businessappraisal provides an educational estimate for informational purposes only. It is not a certified appraisal, USPAP-compliant valuation, fairness opinion, or financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Nothing you enter is filed with or submitted to any authority on your behalf.
